Four students from Broadalbin-Perth Jr./Sr. High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) recently attended the State Leadership Conference in Rochester. These students successfully competed at the divisional meeting, allowing them to be eligible to compete at states. The three-day event hosted 752 attendees from 53 schools across New York state. The four students competing from BPHS were sophomores Logan Haight, Evelynn Magagnos, and Jay Mannato, and junior Alex Vogel.
Students in Wendy Stokna's personal finance class at Broadalbin-Perth Jr./Sr. High School recently had a visit from First Choice Financial Federal Credit Union to learn about managing finances. Christine Carpenter and Paul Naslund presented on financial awareness, speaking about the connection between financial institutions and success with personal finance.

Members of the community are invited to join the Broadalbin-Perth Elementary Drama Club on a colorful, magical, musical adventure in its production of "Seussical Jr.," April 19-21. Tickets for all performances are on sale now and may be purchased online for $7 each plus fees.
Broadalbin-Perth Elementary School recently recognized select students in pre-K through grade 6 for exhibiting the character trait "service." In all, 84 students were recognized.
Broadalbin-Perth Jr./Sr. High School recently hosted more than 45 vendors for the district's first Skilled Trades and Engineering Fair. The fair was open to students at BPHS, as well as students in neighboring districts. The event was deemed a success, with more than 500 students in attendance from five different school districts. Many of the vendors were also B-P alumni, who were eager to return to the school and share with students possible career options.
Members of the Broadalbin-Perth Board of Education adopted a $37,845,000 capital project proposal during their regular monthly meeting, Monday, March 18. If approved by voters during a May 21 referendum, the project would address health and safety concerns and infrastructure needs; expand classroom space for the district’s construction and skilled trades program; and renovate and improve existing learning spaces.

The annual Regional Art Show at the Paul Nigra Center is here, and 165 students in pre-K through grade 12 from the Broadalbin-Perth Central School District have been selected for this year's show. More than 170 pieces of artwork are currently on display at the center until May 16.
Students from Broadalbin-Perth High School were recently given the opportunity to visit Utica University for their 2024 High School Communication Career Day. A collaborative effort between the Business Education Department and Charla Simonson in the Guidance Department, the day gave seven BPHS business students the chance to hear from a panel of professionals and attend career-focused workshops. Topics included sports journalism, social media marketing, digital marketing, communications, public relations, and university sports information from the Utica Comets.
Broadalbin-Perth families with children who will be five years old on or before Dec. 1, 2024, are invited to register their children for the district's full-day kindergarten program for the 2024-25 school year. Kindergarten screenings will be held on Tuesday, June 18. Families are welcome to register for a time using SignUp Genius.
Three Broadalbin-Perth High School juniors Keira McDougall, Madison Dolly, and Emma Watermann have been selected for the 30th Annual Fulton-Montgomery Community College Juried Regional High School Art Exhibition. The exhibition is open to students in grades 9-12, who attend schools within a 50-mile radius of FMCC.
