Broadalbin-Perth Launches Opt-In Email Alert System

SNNResidents of the Broadalbin-Perth Central School District have a new option when it comes to receiving news about the district. Broadalbin-Perth is proud to introduce School News Notifier (SNN), a free opt-in email alert system that will allow members of the community to choose the news from B-P that they want delivered to their email inboxes.

Subscribers can choose to receive news from any or all of the district’s four schools, as well as emergency closing alerts, guidance office news, special education news, budget development news and notifications when there are changes to the local sex offender registry. Once they register, subscribers can change the alerts they receive or unsubscribe from the service at any time.

In order to use SNN, subscribers must have access to a computer and a valid e-mail address. To sign up for the system, residents should visit www.bpcsd.org and click on the SNN logo on the right side of the district home page to be directed to the SNN home page. Once on the SNN home page, follow the on-screen instructions to create a user profile. Residents who would like to receive SMS text message alerts about emergency school closings and delays must also enter a cell phone number and select their cellular carrier.

Broadalbin-Perth will continue to send paper notifications home with students, provide district newsletters to residents by mail, and utilize its emergency phone notification system as necessary. SNN serves as an additional tool in the district’s efforts to maintain open lines of communication with parents, staff and community members. All residents are encouraged to regularly check the district’s Web site, www.bpcsd.org, for updates and important information.
