The Board of Education is dedicated to keeping the public involved in our efforts to achieve mandate reform and we know that many of you are interested in helping but don't know where to start.
In order to help keep you informed we are providing this document called the
"Essential Fiscal Reform Playbook". It was created by the New York State School Boards Association (NYSSBA). There are brief summaries at the beginning of each section which provide an objective, the problem with current laws, and a rationale for change. Following each summary is a detailed solution to the problem, proposed by NYSSBA and endorsed by this Board.
We hope that this document will arm you with sufficient information to advocate for reform with your legislators.
