Hola! Bonjour! Salve! My name is Domenico Di Grazia or
Mr. Di to my students. I have been at BPMS for the last
two years and I teach Spanish, French and ESL. I am
native Italian and I have lived in the US for the last twenty
years. I have studied in Italy, France and the United
States and have been a foreign language teacher for the
last seven years. I absolutely love foreign languages and
traveling to foreign countries to learn about different
cultures. Please feel free to contact me about your child's
progress or with any language questions.

Adios, Au revoir, Arrivederci!

______
Topics Covered - I cover an array of topics the first two
years of foreign language study from weather expressions, to
food, colors, days of the week, month of the year,
numbers, articles of clothing etc.

 In grammar we learn how
to conjugate verbs in the present, past and near future tenses.
We learn about adjective and noun agreements, personal
pronouns and possessives adjectives.  In doing so we
review and sharpen our English grammar skills as well.

As language and culture are intertwined students learn a lot of cultural aspects about the language they are studying.  For example we learn about many holidays:

  • "El día de los muertos," a Mexican holiday honoring our departed loved
    ones.

  • We learn about how to make piñatas and the history behind them.

  •  In French we have fashion shows and learn
about famous fashion designers via the internet.

  • All in all we have a great time actively engaged learning and
using the language and idiomatic expressions to which we
    are being introduced.

  • For a more detailed list of topics
covered chapter by chapter you can visit the publishers website listed above.
