All of our collections contain fiction and nonfiction books.

Circulating Books: We have over 5,000 books for the students to choose from that can be signed out for a two week period.

Reference Books: This collection is strong in career resources, art research, sciences, health, diseases and history with a focus on New York State local history. We are also strong in collective biographies such as Current Biography, DAB -Dictionary of American Biography, Biography Today Series, biographical dictionaries and more.

Professional Books: These books provide our staff with many new ideas to support their classroom materials. We continually add to it as the needs arise.

Teen Health Issues: These timely topics are available for the students to read in the Media Center and to borrow for a short period of time. We collaborate with the Health Class to give the students a place to get information and answers to the issues that teens face. For example dealing with peer pressure, their growing and changing bodies, drug and alcohol abuse, dating, divorce etc.

Picture Books: Many of these books are based on factual events in history such as the Civil War, Nazi prison camps, segregation, discrimination, Depression Era in America as well as other social issues. Students of all ages enjoy and learn from reading and listening to these books.

Periodicals: We have over 40 titles of current magazines that cover a wide variety of topics from news magazines like Time and Newsweek to Cycle World and Teen People. We always encourage reading and strive to provide the students with the opportunity to sit in a comfortable chair and read for pleasure.

Preserving the Past for the Future 2002. This local history picture collection is available to view and enjoy. It is sponsored by a Grant from the New York State Archives and Records Administration through FMCC with Mary Donohue and Theresa Ellithorpe.
