Requirements
Materials:
Students must bring assigned text book, loose leaf notebook, paper and writing utensils; additional pocket folder or plastic sheet protectors may be helpful.
Notes from text book and class should be kept up to date for study outside of class.
Assignments:
Homework will consist of study assignments, work sheets, text book pages, essays, etc.
Although we will practice during class, memorization of vocabulary and study of structures are the responsibility of the student. Textbook and/or notes should be brought home for study each day.
Flash cards should be made for extra practice outside of class.
Students should use computer lab to practice structure from class lessons and to review material from previous studies.
Students should take advantage of Internet language study sites.
Testing:
New vocabulary will usually be quizzed 2 days after presentation.
Simple Structure (such as verb endings) will usually be quizzed one day after presentation.
More complicated concepts may involve more instruction and practice before evaluation.Review vocabulary may be quizzed daily for a time.
These schedules should be anticipated even when not announced.
Teaching Methods:
Every effort is made to adapt the curriculum to students' lacks and needs as diagnosed during the school year.
Parent Interaction:
Parents who are concerned about grades should be sure that the suggestions listed here are being followed faithfully on a regular basis.
Contact is available through e-mail, or the High School Guidance office (954-2620) where phone calls or parent/teacher conferences can be arranged.
