In December, members of the Broadalbin-Perth Middle School band and the National Junior Honor Society went to Viaport Mall in Rotterdam and raised money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s Adopt-A-Wish holiday campaign. As it turns out, they raised the most amount of money during any of the mall’s shifts!

As a thank you, Make-A-Wish invited students and their adviser Laura Jacaruso to a pizza party in Albany last week.

“You are all rock stars!” the invitation from Make-A-Wish said. “Band members raised the most out of ANY shift
during the Adopt-A-Wish campaign at Viaport Rotterdam (by a good margin)!”

“We ate, played games, and even met the children whose faces were on the stars that we helped adopt,” Jacaruso said. “This is something that myself, the kids, and our district are proud to be apart of.”
