Pre-K and kindergarten registration underway for 2018-19 school year

The Learning Community at Broadalbin-Perth is accepting registrations for pre-K and kindergarten for the 2018-19 school year now through May 25.

Pre-K Registration

Any child who will be 4 years old on or before Dec. 1, 2018, is eligible to attend pre-K during the 2018-19 school year.

District transportation to and from school is available for pre-K students. Children in Broadalbin-Perth’s pre-K program may also participate in the school’s before- and after-school childcare programs. For more information about B-P’s pre-K program, including important dates, visit the pre-K page on the district website.

Parents interested in registering their child for pre-K should call Pre-K Parent Advocate Sarah Gabriel at 518-954-2654 to request a registration packet. The registration process includes a brief in-person meeting with Gabriel after the registration packet is complete; parents should sign up for a time slot online.

Parents and their children are invited to participate in a pre-K parent information night at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 25 in the TLC media center.

The deadline to register for pre-K is Friday, May 25. If more students register for pre-K than the district has available slots, a lottery to fill available slots will be held June 1.

Kindergarten Registration

Any child who will be 5 years old on or before Dec. 1, 2018, is eligible to attend kindergarten during the 2018-19 school year. Kindergartners may also participate in the school’s before- and after-school childcare programs.

The kindergarten registration process includes a screening of your child in the areas of basic concepts, language and motor skills. The entire screening process takes approximately one hour.

Parents who would like to register their child for kindergarten should call The Learning Community office at 518-954-2650 to request a registration packet.
