Our Saxon Math Program
Saxon Math
is a hands-on program. We use many different kinds of manipulatives
to develop math concepts.
Some of
these are linking cubes, pattern blocks, teddy bear counters, coins,
toy clocks, tangrams and geoboards.
Assessments
take place after every seven lessons.
We learn
many concepts in math. Our daily lesson with the calendar introduces
months of the year, days of the week, how to count orally, keeping
record of the number of school days by chart and place value.
Other math
concepts include making and identifying patterns, graphing, making
designs on a geoboard, using stories to add and subtract, measuring,
learning
shapes, problem solving, time and money.
