Our Saxon Phonics Program

Saxon Phonics is a success-oriented program that enables most children to develop a solid foundation in phonics and thus become successful readers and spellers. The primary goal of this program is for all Kindergarteners to be able to recognize and know the primary sounds of all the letters of the alphabet. With the confidence of learning letter names and sounds, many Kindergarteners finish the school year reading on a basic level.
There are many components that make up the Saxon Phonics and Spelling program. We have daily worksheets that provide written work that reinforces new learning, reviews previously introduced material and tracks children's progress daily.

We have sixteen decodable readers that provide language and questioning techniques to teach print awareness, preview story vocabulary and check children's understanding.

We teach handwriting, color words and sing a song to introduce the letter each week. Weekly assessments are done to show pupils mastery.
