“Kids Vote Too!” at next Tuesday’s budget vote

During this year’s school budget vote and board elections, Broadalbin-Perth students in pre-K through grade 12 will also have the chance to make their voices heard in the inaugural “Kids Vote Too!” Students will have the opportunity to vote on one of four new lunch menu items:

  • Cheesy chicken quesadilla
  • Corn dogs
  • Chicken and waffles
  • Popcorn chicken bowl (with mashed potatoes, corn, cheese, and gravy)

The item that receives the most votes will be added to the lunch menu rotation next school year, and the winning item will be served with fresh fruit, vegetables, and milk. All of the options comply with USDA standards for the National School Lunch Program.

Ballots will be available for “Kids Vote Too!” 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 17 in the Robert C. Munn Gymnasium at B-P Jr./Sr. High School (the same place as the school budget vote).

“Kids Vote Too!” is sponsored by the Broadalbin-Perth PTO in collaboration with the Broadalbin-Perth food services department. The PTO will also be hosting its annual ice cream social 4-7 p.m. outside the BPHS gym with make-your-own sundaes from Stewart’s.
