High School Principal
Mark Brooks has been principal at Broadalbin-Perth High School since July 2015.
Before coming to B-P, Brooks was assistant principal at Guilderland High School for five years. During his tenure, Brooks created a credit recovery program and a student recognition award program while coordinating the school’s master schedule, Regents and AP testing, and the ninth-grade transition program, and overseeing the school-wide grade reporting process. As Guilderland’s summer school principal, Brooks created a more efficient and cost-effective schedule that cut the summer school budget nearly in half.
Prior to joining Guilderland’s administrative team, Brooks was dean of students at Oneida Middle School in the Schenectady City School District. In addition to working with students on behavior management, Brooks organized school and community events and oversaw student attendance at Oneida and five feeder elementary schools.
Brooks was a social studies teacher for six years, first at Highland Central School District and then at Schenectady High School. A native of Poughkeepsie, Brooks earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees, as well as his administrative certificate, all at the College of St. Rose.
