Aery, Gifford to represent B-P at Capital Region Spelling Bee

student smiling at the cameraSeventh-grader Logan Aery and fourth-grader Taylor Gifford will represent Broadalbin-Perth at the Capital Region Spelling Bee at Proctors Theatre in Schenectady on Feb. 13 after winning their school-wide spelling bees last week.

Aery won the middle school spelling bee after correctly spelling “salutation.” This is Aery’s second time representing B-P at the regional spelling bee.

two students standing in front of a colorful bulletin boardAt B-P Intermediate School, Gifford outlasted runner-up Brady VanVoast to win the grade 4/5 spelling bee. Gifford’s winning word was “stylish.”

Devin Dietz won the third-grade spelling bee with the word “mission.” The runners-up were Olivia Hill and Camden McClarren.
