B-P adds reopening presentations for parents

Broadalbin-Perth will hold virtual meetings for parents and members of the community Tuesday, Thursday and Friday this week. Tuesday’s meetings will take place in the evening, Thursday’s meeting is scheduled for the early afternoon, and Friday’s meeting will take place in the morning, giving parents the chance to participate in the meeting that best fits their schedule. All four sessions will cover general reopening information for all grades, with an emphasis on elementary students in Tuesday’s earlier session and on secondary students in the later session on Tuesday.

All of the presentations will take place over Google Meet, which has a limit of 250 participants per meeting. Each presentation will cover the same material, so families are encouraged to choose just one meeting to participate in. Recordings of all presentations will be posted to Broadalbin-Perth’s ParentSquare and shared with parents through their preferred means of communication (email, text message or app notification).

The following is a schedule of presentations and information about how to join:

District employees with an @bpcsd.org email address are being encouraged to watch the live stream of the presentation and submit their questions to Director of Internal and External Relations Michele Kelley via email. Google limits access to the live stream to those within the organization (in this case, B-P). Those watching the live stream do not count against Google Meet’s 250 participant limit.

Google Meet performs best when accessed through the Google Chrome browser.

Parents and residents can submit questions and comments about the district’s reopening plan through an online form.

After the Aug. 11 presentations, the district will send out learning model commitment forms to all parents via ParentSquare. Parents will have until Friday, Aug. 14 to submit the forms, committing their children to their selected learning model for the start of the school year.
