The B-P community is invited to trick or treat door-to-door inside Broadalbin-Perth Elementary School (1870 County Highway 107, Amsterdam, NY 12010) on Friday, October 29, as the B-P Parent-Teacher Organization presents a new Halloween tradition, “Boo at the School.”

There will be staggered start times for each grade level, and parents with children in different grades can choose the timeframe that works best for their family:

    • 5 p.m. – Preschool through Grade 1
    • 6 p.m. – Grades 2-4
    • 7 p.m. – Grade 5 and older

The event is free of charge and participants can collect free candy and caramel popcorn (while supplies last) as they travel through the school.

A costume contest will be held for each age group category, with volunteers judging both individual and group costume entries. Winners will split $600 in gift cards.

    • Individuals – $5 per entry; judged by age/grade according to start time PLUS adult category
    • Group category
      • $10 for groups of 2-4 people
      • $20 for groups of 5 or more people

COVID safety measures will be enforced. Face masks must be worn (costume masks do not count) and organizers will stagger participants on the trick-or-treating route to avoid congestion in the hallways and allow for social distancing.
