Six senior student-athletes from Broadalbin-Perth were recognized this week for their commitment to continuing their academic and athletic careers at college. The athlete’s families and coaches were in attendance as Tucker Gifford, B-P’s Director of Health, Physical Education and Athletics, commended their contributions to the B-P athletics department and wished them well on the next step in their academic and athletic careers.
Brooke Bush – soccer
College: SUNY Polytechnic Institute
Major: Biology
While at B-P Brooke was named to the Foothills Council first team, Section 2 second team, all-state fourth team, and Times Union small school team. She was also the third girl in B-P’s history to be named to an all-state team.
Sam Rogers – soccer
College: SUNY Oneonta
Major: Sports Management
Sam was ranked second in New York State overall. He was also the Foothills Council MVP, Section 2 Class B Player of the Year, Times Union small school Player of the Year, and was named to the all-state first team. He was the first B-P student to be named to two all-state teams.
Ian Schwartz – soccer
College: SUNY Potsdam
Major: Exercise Science,
Ian was named a Foothills Council all-star while having ten shutouts this season and a 0.875 goals against average.
Maria Stewart – soccer
College: Russell Sage College
Major: Nursing
Maria was named to the Foothills Council second team and was also a member of the cheerleading team.
Michael Magliocca – baseball
Inspiration Academy

Michael was named to the Foothills Council second team and then landed a spot on the first team at second base, second team all-star shortstop and second team all-star pitcher, New York State first team all-small school second base and 2021 Sectional Champion.
Luke Tambasco – baseball
College: Drew College
Major: Business Marketing
Luke was named two time Foothills Council first team and Section 2 Champion.
