B-P students recognized for self-produced video

Students in Broadalbin-Perth’s Library Club recently learned that a video they created was selected as the runner-up in the SORA School Stars video contest. The video earned honors in the “Best Student-Made Submission” category, and B-P will receive $250 in content credit from SORA in recognition of the student’s efforts.

SORA is an online library service that allows students to access ebooks, audiobooks, and other online resources. Broadalbin-Perth has been using SORA since 2021.

The B-P Library Club created their video using basic equipment, including iPhones and a Chromebook, under the direction of media center specialist Sarah Cordts and teaching assistant Jennifer Szumowski. Both Cordts and Szumowski encourage B-P students to use the SORA reading app, and the credit Library Club members with helping spread the word among their peers about this resource.
