Board approves 2018-19 academic calendar

Members of the Broadalbin-Perth Board of Education recently approved the district’s academic calendar for the 2018-19 school year. Important dates are provided below to allow families ample time to plan. The district’s annual wall calendar will be available in August.

September

  • 4-5: Superintendent’s conference days – NO SCHOOL for students
  • 5-7: Pre-K screenings
  • 6: First day of classes, K-12
  • 11: Pre-K orientation
  • 12: First day of classes, pre-K

October

  • 5: Superintendent’s conference day – NO SCHOOL for students
  • 8: Columbus Day – NO SCHOOL
  • 31: Professional development half day – students dismissed early

November

  • 9: State-mandated emergency early dismissal drill (students dismissed 15 minutes early)
  • 12: Veterans Day Observed – NO SCHOOL
  • 19-20: Parent/teacher conferences – students dismissed early
  • 21-23: Thanksgiving Recess – NO SCHOOL

December

  • 21: Half day – students dismissed early
  • 24-Jan. 1: – Holiday Recess

January

  • 2: Classes resume
  • 21: Martin Luther King Jr. Day – NO SCHOOL
  • 22-25: Regents Exams
  • 31: Two-hour delayed start for staff professional development – students report two hours late

February

  • 15-22: Winter Break

March

  • 13: Superintendent’s conference day – NO SCHOOL for students
  • 25: Two-hour delayed start for staff professional development – students report two hours late

April

  • 19-26: Spring Break

May

  • 17: Professional development half day – students dismissed early
  • 24-27: Memorial Day Recess
