The Board of Education reaffirms its belief that the District schools are a community resource. Consistent with this belief, the Board charges the Superintendent with the responsibility of implementing an adult education program that is responsive to community member interests. The goal of continuing education is that programs should be self-supporting, except for programs which are offered and deemed by the Board to merit special consideration.
It shall be the policy of the Board of Education of the Broadalbin-Perth Central School District that continuing education programs should:
- a) Promote life-long learning as a concept of an individual’s growth;
- b) Provide activities enabling people to develop potential;
- c) Provide a learning environment that encourages personal growth, autonomy and self-confidence;
- d) Contribute to the development of a responsible community.
