On Friday, March 25 elementary students participated in the Kids Heart Challenge. After a two year hiatus the schoolwide event returned for the eighth year to raise money for the American Heart Association.
Students and their families shattered records this year raising over $15,000! The students have raised more than $42,000 to date.
“We were fortunate to bring back the Kids Heart Challenge this year. The event has been nothing but positive for our students,” said physical education teacher Vincent Calderone who is in charge of the event. “The purpose of this program is not only to raise funds for the American Heart Association but to educate our students on heart healthy habits. Staff also challenged students to show acts of kindness to their peers, faculty, and staff. As we conclude this years event, we can’t wait until next year, it will be our largest event yet!”
