Broadalbin-Perth seeks community volunteers to serve on Innovate 2.0 committee

Volunteer for the Innovate 2.0 committee

Members of the Broadalbin-Perth community are invited to apply to serve on a committee that will work with district leaders to set a strategic vision for the district’s next five years. The Innovate 2.0 committee will review progress made by the district under its last strategic plan, 2016’s “Innovate,” and discuss ideas for long-term goals Broadalbin-Perth might next focus on.

The Innovate 2.0 committee will include parents, teachers, staff, students, and representatives from business and higher education. Committee members will be expected to attend most, if not all, of the scheduled committee meetings, beginning at 6 p.m. on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, Dec. 14
  • Wednesday, Jan. 11
  • Wednesday, Jan. 25
  • Wednesday, Feb. 8
  • Wednesday, Feb. 15

Committee members will discuss specific pre-defined topics during each meeting.

“As a district, we always want to do our work in full view of our community. Our residents give us valuable feedback that we take to heart,” said Superintendent of Schools Stephen Tomlinson. “There has been no better example of this than the work done by the 2028 Task Force in setting our district’s most recent long-term vision. I believe we are a better school district today because of the work of the 2028 Task Force. I’m looking forward to working with the members of the Innovate 2.0 committee as we look ahead to the next five years and beyond.”

Members of the community who served on the 2028 Task Force during the 2014-15 school year are strongly encouraged to apply to be part of the Innovate 2.0 committee.

Those interested in serving on the Innovate 2.0 committee should click here to complete an online questionnaire by Monday, Dec. 5. All those who complete the questionnaire will be notified by Wednesday, Dec. 7 if they have been selected to serve on the committee. Individuals who are not selected to serve on the committee will have other opportunities to provide their ideas and opinions about the district’s long-term goals.

Members of the community who have questions about the planned work of the Innovate 2.0 committee are invited to contact Michele Kelley at 518-954-2640 or kelleym@bpcsd.org.
