Coach Kayla Twardzik credits the team’s successful season to an “awesome group of returners” and “strong leadership” from the five seniors on the team – Sophia Rogers, Olivia Fraser, Ali Georgelos, Shelby Fenton, and Maddalena Minkler.
“I can’t emphasize enough how much this team really wants it,” she said. “The seniors have stepped up to truly motivate the others. It’s a very positive group and every day, they come in here with a great attitude, ready to put the hard work in.”
While the team’s skill and talent on the court is certainly impressive, their academic prowess is just as noteworthy. “Academically, everyone on this team is in the high 90’s, if not a 100,” Twardzik said. “They are well-rounded young women who are active in extracurricular activities and work very, very hard both academically and athletically.”
