Junior Grace Miller was one of five students from the Greater Capital Region to be nominated for the Best Supporting Actress award in the 2018 High School Musical Theatre Awards, presented by the School of Performing Arts at Proctors in partnership with The Broadway League. Miller earned the nomination for her performance as Bridget in B-P’s production of “Bring It On the Musical” (pictured, left).
Awards will be presented at Proctors Saturday, May 19 during a ceremony styled after Broadway’s Tony Awards. Tickets to the award ceremony are on sale now through the Proctors box office.
Nominees were announced last week after a panel of educators, industry professionals and theatre experts reviewed the productions at participating schools.
The Capital Region program is part of the National High School Musical Theatre Awards (NHSMTA), which are also called the Jimmy Awards. The program affects more than 50,000 students annually who participate in high school musical theater competitions sponsored by 30 professional theaters across the country.
