B-P Middle School students shine in ‘Annie Jr.’

The stage is set as Broadalbin-Perth Performing Arts students prepare to present this summer’s production of “Annie Jr.,” the beloved musical featuring unforgettable songs, colorful characters, and a heartwarming story about hope, family, and perseverance. Performances are scheduled for 6:30 p.m., Thursday and Friday, Aug. 6-7, in the big gymnasium at the B-P elementary campus.

Over the course of the summer, middle school students have been rehearsing music, choreography, dialogue, and stage movement while working alongside directors, mentors, and production staff to bring the classic show to life. Students have also gained valuable behind-the-scenes experience in set construction, props, costumes, and technical theater, making the production a true collaborative effort.

The production is directed and produced by Jen Szumowski, with direction and choreography by Lilli Faulkner. Scenic design and set construction are led by Trenton Richmond and Samantha Gifford, with support from a team of students, staff, volunteers, and mentors who have worked throughout the summer to prepare every aspect of the production.

“Annie Jr.” is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are supplied by MTI.
