B-P prepares staff with comprehensive training in case of a medical emergency
The administration at Broadalbin-Perth believes that education and training are the best ways to prepare for an emergency situation. The school hosts many trainings throughout the school year to instruct staff on what to do in the case of a medical or other type of emergency.
Because asthma, allergies, diabetes, and seizures are the most common chronic conditions students have, all staff are trained on how to recognize and respond when a student may be having a health issue related to any of these conditions.
Staff also received CPR training and Stop the Bleed training recently. Each classroom is equipped with an emergency bucket filled with many supplies including gauze, bandages, toilet paper, apple juice for diabetic students, and more. Every staff member was trained on how to properly use the contents of the bucket in an emergency situation.
