B-P students present walleye research at Bass Pro Shops grand opening

Students and instructors from the Broadalbin-Perth science research program had the opportunity to showcase their work during the grand opening of the new Bass Pro Shops in Clifton Park on Tuesday. 

As part of an ongoing walleye population study in the Great Sacandaga Lake, students have spent years tagging and collecting data on the native fish species. Their long-term research aims to support conservation efforts and better understand local aquatic ecosystems.

At the event, students were named conservation partners and helped set up a display featuring informational flyers and pamphlets highlighting the purpose, process, and results of their study. The opportunity was made possible through a partnership with Bass Pro Shops, which invited the students to take part in the opening-day festivities.

The showcase gave students a chance to engage with community members and share the impact of their hands-on scientific work with an audience of outdoor enthusiasts from throughout the region.
