BPHS business students attend Jets Sports Business Day at MetLife Stadium

Thirty-two Broadalbin-Perth High School business students attended the New York Jets Sports Business Day at MetLife Stadium on Wednesday, Oct. 22, where they explored career opportunities in the sports and entertainment industry.

During a behind-the-scenes tour of the stadium, students stopped at 10 different locations to hear from Jets business executives representing various departments, including ticket sales, management, client relations, marketing, corporate partnerships, and sponsorships.

Executives shared insights about their career paths and the skills necessary to succeed in the industry. They also discussed the organization’s use of marketing and sales channels, including email, text, and social media, and shared statistics such as receiving more than 2,000 applications every six months for the Jets’ “Flight Academy” internship program.

Throughout the day, speakers emphasized the importance of hard work, networking, and hands-on experience. Many of the presenters credited their own success to internships, professional connections, and persistence in pursuing opportunities at every level of the industry.

Students were encouraged to build and maintain professional relationships, participate in internships and career fairs, make positive impressions, and approach every opportunity with integrity and respect.
