BPHS students get in the holiday spirit during field trip to NYC

The Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall and the tree at Rockefeller Center are iconic symbols of Christmas in New York City. Students from Broadalbin-Perth Jr./Sr. High School got to experience both and more during a one-day field trip to the city on Thursday, Nov. 30.

The group's trip to Radio City Music Hall included a behind-the-scenes tour, during which students learned about the history of the famed performance venue. The students also had the chance to meet a Rockette, ask her questions, and take pictures with her. And, of course, the students watched the Rockettes perform in the Christmas Spectacular.

In the afternoon, students got a backstage pass at Madison Square Garden, where they walked the bridge overlooking the arena, visited luxury suites, and got an up-close look at the court where the NBA's New York Knicks play their home games.

In addition to visiting the tree at Rockefeller Center, the students also walked past the Empire State Building for more photo opportunities.

The trip was organized by BPHS business teacher Candice Gugliemelli.
