BPHS students to perform at Zone 7 Area All-State Festival

BPHS students to perform at Zone 7 Area All-State Festival
Two Broadalbin-Perth High School musicians — junior Tim Elwood and sophomore John Robeson — have been selected for the 2025 Zone 7 Area All-State Symphonic Band, based on their outstanding New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) solo festival performances.
To qualify, students must earn a score of 98 or higher on a Level 5 or 6 solo. Elwood achieved a 98 on a Level 6 snare drum solo, “Etude #3” by John Beck. Robeson earned a perfect 100 on a Level 5 trombone solo, performing the first movement of Paul Hindemith’s “Sonata for Trombone.”
The Area All-State Festival, featuring top student musicians from across the region, will take place Nov. 21-22 at Proctors Theatre in Schenectady. The event concludes with a public concert at 2 p.m., on Saturday, Nov. 22, on Proctors’ historic main stage. Concert tickets may be purchased through the Proctors website at http://bit.ly/47KnUr2.
