BPHS students visit Utica University for Communication Career Day
Students from Broadalbin-Perth High School were recently given the opportunity to visit Utica University for their 2024 High School Communication Career Day. A collaborative effort between the Business Education Department and Charla Simonson in the Guidance Department, the day gave seven BPHS business students the chance to hear from a panel of professionals and attend career-focused workshops. Topics included sports journalism, social media marketing, digital marketing, communications, public relations, and university sports information from the Utica Comets.
The day concluded with a panel of Utica University seniors, who were able to give BPHS students insight on the college experience. The panel provided a first-hand look at the transition from high school to college, college campus life, and advice from current college students. At the conclusion of the session, each panel member shared advice that they would give to the freshman version of themselves.
