Reisinger, Tomlinson receive June MVP Awards

Congratulations to the June recipients of the Most Valuable Patriot (MVP) award, teaching assistant Angela Reisinger, and PLTW teacher Beth Tomlinson!

Angela Reisinger, Teaching Assistant

Teaching assistant Angela Reisinger is in her ninth year with the district, and she has spent all nine years working alongside special education teacher Erin Loatman. Reisinger supports students in the Life Skills program, accompanying them to their various classes throughout the school day.

"Angela consistently goes above and beyond to support our students with disabilities — not just within the classroom, but throughout the entire school community," wrote the co-worker who nominated her. "Angela brings warmth, compassion, and positivity wherever she goes. Her work is rooted in genuine care and dedication… She always leads with kindness and commitment. This year, especially, her impact has been remarkable. She’s helped students step into unfamiliar environments with confidence and success, providing not just academic guidance but emotional encouragement every step of the way. Her bright spirit and willingness to take on every challenge have played a crucial role in helping our students thrive. Angela is supportive, spirited, and selfless. We are lucky to have her as part of our community."

Reisinger said her nomination tugged at her heart. “I truly love being in the classroom with the kids, even after having them for six years," she said. "They are such a blessing and have such a huge piece of my heart.”

Beth Tomlinson, PLTW teacher

Beth Tomlinson, a B-P graduate, has worked at her alma mater for 28 years. After working for years as an elementary classroom teacher, Tomlinson now teaches Project Lead the Way at the junior/senior high school, helping students learn about engineering, computer science, and biomedical science. Tomlinson has also helped coach volleyball, and this past year joined the Future City team.

"Beth Tomlinson is the kind of teacher every student deserves and every teacher hopes to work alongside," wrote a co-worker who nominated her. "Beth takes the time to truly get to know each child… She meets them where they are and gently challenges them to grow, celebrating every single win, no matter how small. Her classroom is a place where students feel safe, supported, and celebrated for exactly who they are. She radiates the kind of positivity and warmth that makes even the toughest days brighter. Beth doesn’t just teach; she uplifts, inspires, and changes lives."

Tomlinson said she was surprised by her nomination, and added that she is grateful for the students and the teaching team that she works with. "My goal is [for my class to be] the best part of their day," she said. "I want them to all know how important they all are. They can do anything, and no challenge is too hard if they believe in themselves. They can take on anything if they know they can persevere through hard times because not everything is easy. I don't want them to ever be afraid to try anything."

"Mrs. Tomlinson is the nicest teacher I’ve ever met," wrote one of her students. "I didn’t know her before this year, but now that I’ve been in her class, I’ve learned that she’s super caring to everyone, no matter what. You really can’t have a bad day around her because she always finds a way to make you smile… Even if you mess up, she doesn’t get mad. She helps you fix it, and that’s why we all love Mrs. Tomlinson."
