Elementary students show off robot floats in Dash parade

Elementary students show off robot floats in Dash parade

Step aside, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade — Broadalbin-Perth Elementary has it’s own parade and it has the entire school excited.

On Nov. 20, the hallways at B-P Elementary were filled with eager students waiting in anticipation for the annual Dash parade. Parade highlights included 12 student-designed Dash robot floats, and the high school marching band, dance team, and cheerleaders.

According to the Wonder Workshop website, Dash robot is a small mobile robot that is full of character and drives around making noises and shining lights. The robots are controlled with tablet devices. Dash robots introduce students to the basics of robotics and coding.
