Funk, Bogusz receive October MVP Awards

Congratulations to the October recipients of the Most Valuable Patriot (MVP) award, teaching assistant Ashley Funk, and Transportation Typist Ashley Bogusz!

Teaching assistant Ashley Funk is in her third year with the district. 

“Not only was Ashley outstanding last year, but this year she has been going above and beyond to help my daughter adjust to her new classroom and has been out there every morning to help bring her into school,” wrote a parent. “Ashley is amazing and has such a beautiful and kind heart. Our family honestly wouldn’t have made it through last year or the beginning of this year without her."

Funk said she is so honored to be nominated for an MVP award.

“I love working in the Broadalbin-Perth school district, and I love my pre-K kiddos as if they were my own," she said. "I would love to still be involved in their lives as they go through life.”

Ashley Bogusz, Transportation Typist

Ashley Bogusz, a 2004 B-P High School graduate, has worked at her alma mater for just over a decade. She started as a substitute bus aide in 2013 when her children were in school. Since then, she has been a full-time bus aide, a middle school aide, and is now a transportation typist.

“She is the definition of a team player— always ready and willing to drop what she's doing to help, no matter the situation,” wrote the coworker who nominated her. “I deeply appreciate her unwavering support, kindness on every phone call, and her calm, patient demeanor as we work through any challenge together. Whether it’s answering a quick question or jumping in to solve an unexpected issue, Ashley is consistently quick, helpful, and happy to assist — without hesitation. Her communication is nothing short of outstanding — always clear, timely, and supportive. Ashley's positive attitude shines through in everything she does, and it's truly appreciated.”

“I am grateful for the nomination,” Bogusz said. “It's heartwarming to know that my hard work isn't going unnoticed and that I am appreciated by the community.”

Each month, two district employees are recognized through Broadalbin-Perth's MVP program. Each winner receives a B-P Yeti mug. Nominations can come from any member of the school community and all nominations should be submitted online. The deadline to nominate a B-P employee for the November MVP award is Wednesday, Oct 29.
