McAuliff, Gottung receive October MVP award

Congratulations to the October recipients of the Most Valuable Patriot (MVP) award, third grade teacher Amanda McAuliff and high school social worker Marshall Gottung!

Amanda McAuliff is a third grade teacher at Broadalbin-Perth and an alum; she aspired to be a teacher since she was in kindergarten. She said she is living her dream job and landing at B-P teaching third grade was her “end goal in life.” She says the best part about her job is “seeing the students smile and having fun.” McAuliff goes above and beyond for her students always trying to show support both inside and outside of the classroom. She recently went to three football games and got to see seven of her students play. She often goes to games, plays, and other school activities to see her students. 

Marshall Gottung is a school social worker at B-P Jr./Sr. High School and has been here for 22 years. He was nominated for an MVP award by a student who said she “would not make it through school without him!” He told us it’s nice to know that all of the things that you do on a daily basis do have an impact. He loves all of the different opportunities that B-P offers students and the fact that the administration is open to anything to support the students. He enjoys wearing many different hats and enjoys working with students in the school store and the cafe. He also co-leads the Fishing Club. 

Each month, two district employees are recognized through Broadalbin-Perth's MVP program. Each winner receives a B-P Yeti mug. Nominations can come from any member of the school community and all nominations should be submitted online. The deadline to nominate a B-P employee for the November MVP award is Monday, Nov. 6.
