Nominating petitions for the Board of Education now available

On Tuesday, May 16, qualified residents of the Broadalbin-Perth Central School District will elect one person to a five-year term on the Board of Education. The current term of board member Paul Chizek will expire on June 30, resulting in a vacancy. Petitions for nominating a candidate to fill this vacancy are now available.

Candidates for the Board of Education must be qualified voters of the district and must have resided in the district for at least one year immediately prior to the May 16 election. To qualify for inclusion on the ballot, candidates must return completed petitions with the names of at least 25 qualified voters to the district clerk by 5 p.m. Monday, April 17.

Nominating petitions may be picked up at the district office, 20 Pine Street, Broadalbin, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. Interested residents may call the district clerk at 518-954-2501 for more information.
