Creative Writing

Through a variety of reading and writing activities offered during this half-year course, students will improve their creative writing abilities.

Required text

  • “The Story and its Writer: An Introduction to Short Fiction” by Ann Charters

Required supplies

  • Pens and paper

Course format and procedures

  • The primary format will be the workshop.

Grading procedures:

Each homework or classroom assignment is worth a minimum of 30 points. Each completed story is worth a minimum of 100 points. At the end of the quarter, the instructor will divide the number of points each student has earned by the number of total points for the quarter.
