Dear parents and guardians,
As you have probably seen, we are now barely a week into the school year and we have already had multiple cases of COVID-19 in our schools. We are taking all necessary precautions, including following the state’s mask mandate and continuing our daily COVID cleaning and disinfection protocols. But whenever an individual who has been in our schools tests positive for COVID-19, that means one thing: Quarantines.
The best way to avoid quarantines – and the worst-case scenario, having to shut down schools because of a multitude of quarantines – is for you, as parents, to keep your children home when they are sick. It’s that simple. If sick or symptomatic children stay away from our buildings, we can greatly reduce the spread of COVID, and most importantly, we can avoid quarantines.
I am begging for your help with this. We all have to work together to keep our school doors OPEN to in-person learning. Keeping your children home whenever they show ANY signs or symptoms of COVID-19 is the best way for you to do your part.
Thank you for your attention to this important matter.
Sincerely,
Stephen Tomlinson
Superintendent of Schools
