Ryan Visco wrapped up his athletic career at Broadalbin-Perth Central School District with a very impressive senior year where he was a three-sport captain and standout player on the football field, basketball court and baseball diamond. His athletic contributions were honored on June 26 when he was named the 2021 Fulton County Athlete of the Year by the Fulton and Montgomery County Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with Madison Relyea, a runner and nordic skier from Mayfield.
Ryan Visco is more than deserving of the award. He racked up numerous accolades during his senior year including being named to the first team as an all-purpose player on the Class B North Division all-star football team. He was a key player on the Patriots’ basketball team that posted a perfect 9-0 record this year. He holds the school record for most stolen bases in baseball and this year, Ryan helped the team win its first ever Section II championship title. In fact, it was his walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning of the class B semifinals that sent the team to the finals — and a dramatic game-winning RBI from Ryan in the finals to win the Section II Class B team title.
Academically, Ryan was on the Principal’s List throughout his time at B-P. He will continue his academic and athletic career at SUNY Brockport next year, where he will major in Sport Studies/Physical Education and play on the baseball team. He is the son of Barb and Tony Visco.
